A: Dr. Cholewa specializes in German bioenergetic medicine and electro-diagnosis. He uses the Vega Test instrument to identify the underlying causes for conditions that often seem mystifying and puzzling to health care professionals.

Q: What is German electro-diagnosis?
A: It is a non-invasive, safe and painless electro-diagnostic assessment method that is performed during most first office visits. The instrument measures micro-current electronic changes in the body and provides valuable insights into the most common root causes of ill health such as food and environmental allergies, toxicities and functional organ imbalances. During testing a probe is used to measure the electrical resistance at points on the hand, points similar to acupuncture points. The patient experiences no electrical or other unpleasant sensations during the test.

What to expect during first office visit?
During a standard first office visit, Dr. Cholewa will take your medical history, review your medical records, perform appropriate physical exam, and carry out a comprehensive electro-diagnostic assessment. He may also order laboratory tests. In addition, he will formulate an individualized treatment plan and provide you with appropriate educational handouts. First office visit generally lasts one hour.

How many office visits are typically required?
The number of visits required will depend on the complexity of your condition. If you have a chronic condition, you may require treatment for six months or more. Return visits are typically scheduled every two to six weeks.

A: No. Unfortunately, currently there is virtually no medical insurance coverage (including Medicare) for naturopathic medicine services in the state of Hawaii. We ask for payment at the time of each visit. Credit cards (Visa and MasterCard) are accepted.

What are the clinic’s fees?
A standard First Office Visit lasts 60-90 minutes and consists of a naturopathic consultation and a comprehensive electro-diagnostic assessment. Follow up visits typically take 30 minutes.  The following are some of our basic fees:

First office visit: $165-245 depending on case complexity and visit length.

Return office visit: $75

Extended Return Office Visit: $95
